Students, faculty, or staff that leave Penn State will lose access to all work and files saved in applications like Teams, OneNote, OneDrive, SharePoint and all other Office 365 apps other than Outlook Web Access 14 days after their departure.
You will continue to have access to your Outlook Web Access and your inbox until your Penn State Access Account expires. (When your Access Account expires depends upon your affiliation. See https://security.psu.edu/services/penn-state-accts/after-i-leave/ for more details and the latest up to date information.)
These access limitations are being implemented to help Penn State IT to ensure compliance with our Microsoft contract. We encourage anyone who is leaving the University to backup all files previously saved in these applications to avoid losing their data. Microsoft can retrieve data from these accounts within a limited number of days after access has expired. Please contact Penn State IT at ITservicedesk@psu.edu to facilitate any data retrievals. Afterward, anything not backed up will be lost permanently.
